ABSTRACT

This paper uses the success of applications in Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) to discuss the development of a framework for an Intelligent Tutoring system for CONCRETE (ITS-CONCRETE). The system includes an explanation driven instructor module which has the capability of providing information at a description level matching the comprehension of the user. The explanations are hierarchially arranged so that progressive explanation can be provided. The system is implemented using CLIPS 5.0 and X11R4.
