Hurricane Katrina Activites

Professor DesRoches has been involved in several activites related to Hurricane Katrina. He was a member of an ASCE Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) assessment team which studied the damage to ports following Hurricane Katrina. He also led an ASCE Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering (TCLEE) team to investigate the damage to bridges in coastal Mississippi and Lousiana. Professor DesRoches is currently a member of a National Research Council committee which is reviewing the Corps' plans for protecting Coastal Louisiana.
